An introduction to electrical installation work, tools, measurement, wiring and safe working practices.

What you will learn

  • Follow electrical safety and workplace procedures
  • Use hand tools, power tools and graduated measuring devices
  • Measure electrical and electronic quantities
  • Read sketches and simple drawings
  • Prepare, cut, bend and install conduit
  • Install, terminate and connect wiring
  • Disconnect and reconnect fixed-wired equipment and fixtures
  • Attach flexible cables and plugs
  • Carry out basic electrical or electronic repair and soldering
