Who we are

Upper Corentyne Industrial Training Centre (UCITC) serves Upper Corentyne and surrounding communities through technical and vocational education and training. Its training areas include business and ICT, building and engineering, agriculture, home management and garment construction.

UCITC is managed by a Board of Governors including the Administrator, Chief Instructor, learner and staff representatives, and other community members.

Our history

  1. 2005

    Established

    UCITC was established in response to a need for technical training identified by the Government of Guyana and Upper Corentyne communities.

  2. 24 June 2006

    Commissioned

    The Centre was commissioned on 24 June 2006 by then President Bharrat Jagdeo.

  3. September 2017

    Competency-based training

    The Centre began offering studies through competency-based education and training in September 2017.
